Shanna Warocquier (b. 1998) is a photographer and visual artist based in Paris. Always on a quest, she seeks out what connects Humans to their territory, from the stars to body cells. As an artist of still and moving images, her practice brings together photography, sculpture, video and installation.
After a year at Aalto University, School of Arts & Design (Helsinki, Finland), she graduated in 2024 from the Superior National School of Decorative Arts of Paris (ENSAD), in photography and video.
She carries out commissioned work for fashion and music, galleries and portraits – she has worked for Off White, Le 19M (Paris), the Pernod Ricard Foundation, Porte B gallery and others…
Her work has been exhibited in the galleries 35/37, Artistik Rezo, 6B in Paris, the Larvoratoire and Scroll in Nantes (Brittany), Konelaboratorio and Väre galleries in Helsinki... She has completed residencies such as “Into the world’s silence” (France) and “Magyar Tenger” (Hungary), which led to an exhibition at Kalleria gallery in Helsinki.
In 2024, her work was shown in the exhibitions “A sandcastle under the eyelid” part of Paris Photo, “The Crinoids” at Sira gallery and “Between thresholds” curated by Anna Labouze and Keimis Henni.
In 2024, she was selected as a finalist of the Dauphine Contemporary Art Prize, curated by Chloé Poulain which led to the exhibition “Disruptions” at the Crous gallery and as the winner of the “Digital cultures production grant” from the Bank of Territories – Bank of Deposits Group, for her project “Red Marble”.
Her work has been published in “Neptune” and “Le cahier des lucioles” publications, in Libération newspaper and Fisheye Magazine’s “Claws” issue in 2025.
In 2025, she’s a finalist photographer of Hyères Festival, 40th anniversary - Fashion, Photography and Accessories Festival of the Villa Noailles, and winner of the Research and Creation residency grant from the Martell Foundation as part of the Paris Biennal of the Living 2025.
In March, she’s invited to discuss her work alongside the photographer Nick Knight at the Jeu de Paume Museum as part of CHANEL’s “7 à 9” event.
In September, she’ll exhibit her work at the Natural History Museum of Paris as well as in the Artaïs 2025 edition exhibition in a gallery to be revealed, situated in the Marais, Paris.
